Because We Are Entrepreneurs
There’s something about us. And I do mean us as in an “us” versus “them” kind of way. Us as in the one’s who see the pain if staying the same as something infinitely worst than the pain of change and uncertainty. Us as in the one’s who would rather plant our own flag in the ground instead of defending someone else’s. Us – us as in a group of people who dare to predict the future because we are willing to write it.
Because we are entrepreneurs.
There’s something different about us. Different doesn’t mean special nor does it mean better. It just means different. We have an interesting mix of child-like ambition and a developed self-awareness. We despise average and are deathly afraid of being seen as such. We don’t want a paycheck – not from them. We know that they aren’t willing to pay us for our talents or creativity, but they will gladly compensate us for our subordination. And that’s not enough. Not for us.
Because we are entrepreneurs.
It’s not about the money for us. They want the money so they can buy people and things to inspire them. But we are already inspired. For us, the money is only good for one thing – buying back our time from the people and things that don’t inspire us. The money alone can’t feed our hunger and that’s why those who imitate us feel the fatigue and fall short of their declaration. Our plate, also, has a heap of passion, a large order of pride and a portion of selfless thought about our children’s children. This is our diet. How do I know this for sure? Because I am an entrepreneur.
